The difference between “Lite” and Regular PowerPaul batteries

The Lite range of batteries use a simple “Hardware BMS” which is cheaper due to fewer features. Essentially the Lite does not include a display, Bluetooth, over-current / short-circuit protection, or low temperature protection. These luxury functions are not required by all users, and all the necessary battery protection functions are still handled by the BMS.

Monitoring of the battery State Of Charge should be performed by a shunt. Fusing handles management of over-current or short-circuit events.

The Scout Lite also has a lower profile lid, reducing the height by 25mm to fit into even tighter spaces.

If you just want a simple battery with no “smart” features, then a Lite version may be a good choice for you.
